Andrew L. Mermelstein, M.D.

Dr. Mermelstein is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and has served on the ACR Continuing Assessment, Review, and Evaluation Program Development Committee responsible for developing continuing medical education modules for rheumatologists. He is a member of the Philadelphia Rheumatism Society and the Pennsylvania Medical Society. He joined Rheumatology Associates, Ltd. in 2000 and serves on the consulting staff of Einstein Medical Center Montgomery and Abington Lansdale Hospital. 

Dr. Mermelstein was awarded dual degrees in 1990 from University of Pennsylvania - his B.A. degree magna cum laude, and his B.S.Econ degree magna cum laude from the Wharton School. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa while at Penn. He then earned his M.D. degree with honors from New York University School of Medicine in 1994. He completed internship and residency in internal medicine followed by fellowships in rheumatology, immunology, and allergy at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He has served as an investigator for multiple phase 2, 3 and 4 clinical trials.

He was named by his peers as a Top Doctor in the Delaware Valley Area as published in the 2014 and 2015 issues of Delaware Valley Consumer’s Checkbook. He was named one of America’s Top Doctors by Castle Connolly in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. He was also included in Philadelphia Magazine’s annual Top DocsTM issue in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.
